In 2009-2010 I completed a series of paintings called Rebuilding, featuring subject matter of bloody diamonds, puzzle pieces and other surreal macro effects, and recently fulfilled a request from a passionate tattoo collector for a 3/4 sleeve of imagery from those paintings. I made some minor changes to adapt the paintings to the skin medium, but still had a chance to experiment with some painting effects in a fun way. You can see the results of this in the detail image, which shows from left to right: colored shadow reflections, subtle surface glare, and Bokeh highlight blur. Thanks again to my client Chuck!
